A traditional church wedding and a barn celebration at Cantley House hotel - A couple blessed with the most incredible family and friends

Have you ever been in a room filled to the brim with people who love you and want nothing but the very best for you? If you have, you’ll know it’s pure magic.

Miles and Georgie have experienced that magic, I saw it with my own eyes. From the moment I walked in to bridal prep all the way through to the dancefloor every single person I met was ecstatic for them. Their friends and family stepped up for everything from creating the most beautiful bouquets and cake to throwing their heart and soul into worship during the ceremony. They planned a day that was both classy and filled with personality, that was faith focused and full of fun. See for yourself!

Getting ready!

The cosy hotel room was joyful, bustling excitement when I arrived. The flower girls played on the bed, bridesmaids glided around in their dressing gowns and the bride sat looking poised and filled with nervous anticipation. In the madness of everyone getting ready it somehow also felt peaceful. There was time left for the little moments, like admiring the ladybird that landed on the gown and sharing how they’d all met the bride. Just as it’s not only about the destination, but the journey, this morning felt filled with love and fun and was the perfect lead up to the rest of the day.

The ceremony…

I can say without a doubt this is the longest wedding ceremony I’ve ever been a part of. Faith is a hugely important part of the Bride and Groom’s life, as is music. Both were honoured with extended, heartfelt worship along with carefully chosen readings and prayers from friends and family. The church was filled with smiles, singing and cheers throughout. They chose a stunning church just around the corner from their venue and filled it with flowers and celebration.

The Reception.

Being a November wedding, we were treated to autumn colours and light. Luckily we only had a scattering of autumn weather so were able to get out and make them most of them to capture group shots and portraits! Just like their ceremony, their speeches did not disappoint. Poignant, emotional and, of course, hilarious. There was beautiful chaos of the kind you only see when a family, grandkids to grandparents, come together to celebrate. For an extra special touch, the groom created hand made centrepieces based on some of their favourite interests (okay, mostly Star wars universe!) which were also used to name the tables. The groom even hand crafted the knife they used to cut the cake!

Time to party!

Miles, Georgie and I snuck out to make the most of the autumn leaves (and brave the November chill!) before the sun set, It was lovely to see them have a little alone time in the madness of their day before getting back for more celebrating! Once they’d cut the cake (with the all important knife) and shown everyone their skills on the dancefloor it was time to really get down to the party! I think the photos there speak for themselves!
